Description of the PPHRNA Awards
 Please note: All horses must be PPHRNA registered. For annual awards, horse must be owned by a member in good standing.

Annual High Point Awards For recognition of outstanding horses. The following awards are given:
(1)
High Point Trail Horse for recognition of the horse which has garnered the most points in organized, competitive or endurance trail rides Established in 1987
(2)
High Point Parade Horse or Group for recognition of the horse group which garnered the most points in judged parades. Established in 1987
(3)
High Point Open Show Horse - ln recognition of the horse which has garnered the most points in Open Horse Shows or Classes. Established in 1991. Awarded annually. The award presented varies.
   
High Point Performance
Horse Awards
For recognition of show horses that have achieved the most points in the Performance Divisions of approved shows. Given to the High Point Horse (mare, stallion or gelding) and the High Point Gelding. The award presented varies. Established in 1977.
   
Medallon de Bronce For recognition of show horses that have achieved 3000 points in the Performance Divisions of PPHRNA approved shows or that have been three-times High Point Performance Horse of the National Show. A traditional Peruvian stirrup with a bronze medal is presented as merited. Established in 1977.
   
Medallon de Oro For recognition of show horses that have achieved 3000 points in approved shows or that have been "Laureado" at the National Show (i.e. three times Champion of Champions). This is a lifetime award. A traditional Peruvian stirrup and a gold medal are presented as merited.
   
Medallon de Plata For recognition of the high point winners in approved shows. Categories include stallion, mare, gelding, colt and filly. A traditional Peruvian stirrup and silver medal are presented annually to five winners. Established in 1977.
   
Zone Medallon For recognition of show horses who have garnered the most points in the approved shows of each PPHRNA designated Show Zone. A plaque with a medal is presented as merited. Established in 1990.
   
Annual Junior Horsemanship
Program
The goal of the PPHRNA Horsemanship Program for Juniors is to encourage junior member participation in the breed. The Registry encourages its senior members to sponsor juniors and give them the satisfaction of sharing their wonderful world of Peruvians with the next generation of owners and breeders. Open to PPHRNA Junior members; horse ownership not required. Points generated through almost any activity related to Peruvian Pasos except showing in approved shows. Ribbons awarded on a point basis for all participants. Established 1994.
   
Annual High Point Junior
Exhibitor
For recognition of the high point junior exhibitor in two age groups (12 Years of Age and Younger - 13 Years of Age to 18 Years of Age) in junior classes in approved shows. Exhibitors must be PPHRNA Junior members. Belt Buckles are awarded the winners and names are added to a Perpetual Plaque. Established 1995.
   
Annual Top Ten Sires For recognition of the leading sire of horses being shown in approved shows. Points are counted for all get in all classes. Stallion must be PPHRNA registered. Points not counted for deceased or gelded horses. Established 1996.
   
Fernando Grana Memorial
Trophy
This is a perpetual trophy for the owner of the sire who wins the Get of Sire Class at the National Show. The Perpetual trophy is a silver punch bowl and matching silver cups. The winner has the use of this trophy until the next National Show and receives a silver cup to keep.
   
Berardi Memorial Trophy Funded by the friends of Steven and Heather Berardi (Hacienda de la Esperanza), this perpetual trophy is awarded to the winner of the Stallion Pisos Class at the National Show. It is a silver Champagne Bucket trophy - a cup is given to the winner to keep.
   
Rancho Monterey Best Gaited
Horse of the Show
Donated by William, Kris, Marissa and Zachary Berg for the Best Gaited Horse of the National Show. Winner receives a beautiful perpetual trophy on a stand and a replica cup to keep. Established 1989.
   
Vivienne Lundquist Memorial
Trophy
Donated by the ABC Connection (Duke Butler, Lee Anderson, Edd & Melynda Curti) for the Champion of Champions Performance Stallion at the National Show. Winner receives a beautiful perpetual trophy and a replica to keep. Established 1995.
   
Poso Creek Ranch Vivienne
Lundquist Memorial Trophy
Donated by the Poso Creek Ranch (Dorothy Owens and Alice Nunes) in memory of Vivienne Lundquist for the Annual Over-all High Point Stallion in approved shows. A lovely bronze perpetual trophy created by artist, Jann Bach, is presented and a smaller replica is given to the recipient to keep. Established 1995.
   
Triple Crown Award This award is presented to any mare or stallion who achieves the following in his or her lifetime:
a) A
Breeding Championship in the PPHRNA National Show
b) A first place in the
Produce of Dam or Get of sire Class in the PPHRNA National Show
c) A first place in a PPHRNA approved
competitive trail ride or endurance ride.
